Brazilian boatbuilding composite class of 2014

The University of Itajai in Santa Catarina (UNIVALI), Brazil completed the graduation of the first class of 2014 on Boat Construction in Composite Material.

This is a pioneer initiative to offer a composite education for boat community and it is supported by ACOBAR-Brazilian Boatbuilder Association.

The Composite Boat Building Program at UNIVALI provides a broad education in the rapidly evolving field of composite construction. The course is taught through lecture, lab and construction of one or more composite one-design boats. Students learn how to use modern composite materials, construction processes, mold and prototyping construction, scantling calculations, 2D and 3D drawings, mechanical testing and construction details.
