Airbus to increase monthly A320 production to 60 in mid-2019

The company plans to add another assembly line at its in plant in Hamburg, Germany.

Airbus (Toulouse, France) will increase the production rate for its A320 aircraft to 60 aircraft a month in mid-2019. The company said it made the decision after completing studies on production ramp-up readiness in the supply chain and in Airbus sites.

Airbus will extend its capacity in Hamburg with the creation of an additional production line. In addition, the company plans to integrate cabin furnishing activities for A320 aircraft produced in Toulouse into the final assembly line in Toulouse in order to “harmonize” the production process across all A320 final assembly lines worldwide.
