Rehau upgrades to latest KraussMaffei RTM system

Rehau will use KraussMaffei’s new 8/4 HP-RTM system to develop manufacturing processes for specialized hydrogen pressure tanks used in fuel cell systems.
Composites specialist Rehau (Muri, Switzerland) reportes that it is basing its lightweight construction research efforts on the high-pressure mixing and metering systems from KraussMaffei (Munich, Germany) in the form of a Rimstar Compact 8/4 HP-RTM (high-pressure resin transfer molding). At the new technical center for lightweight construction in Viechtach, Germany, special hydrogen pressure tanks are being developed as highly secure reservoirs, meeting a key requirement for the future use of state-of-the-art fuel cell technology.
