Rugasco, Russia’s first polymer-composite gas cylinder producer, launched in Nizhny Novgorod a little over a year ago, has already forged key export deals with customers in Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The firm’s safer, lightweight, transparent gas carriers have also attracted serious interest from potential customers in other foreign markets in countries ranging from Iraq, Libya and Oman to Azerbaijan.

The Russian-Norwegian joint venture firm, which began selling its domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders across Russia last August, also delivered to Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) last year a first set of high pressure gas fuel systems for buses.

This high pressure cylinder (CNG) system is intended for fuel gas based on compressed methane. A prototype MAZ-assembled bus with CNG power system went on show at the COMTRANS commercial vehicles exhibition staged in Moscow last September.
